NSNotificationAdditions tweaks:

 - Remove unused _postNotificationForwarder methods
 - Clean up and standardise method names and argument names
 - Correctly cross-thread retain when waitUntilDone: is NO
 - Attempt to improve compatibility with third-party frameworks such as TCMPortMapper
